The Zoo

So we went to our local (kind of ghetto) zoo here in Las Vegas. We were surprised to see that it actually had two lions and a leapard. The Lion's roar was so powerful that the two chain link fences between us and the them didn't seem like enough. Brody had so much fun running after all the pigeons and scaring them away. He also loved the monkeys. We fed the little goats and birds. I don't think you are supposed to feed the monkeys, but when I passed by the monkeys with my goat food this monkey stuck his hand out to me and started making a grabbing motion like he was saying "feed me lady...now". We got such a kick out of that monkey, so I had Brandon take a picture of him as I snuck some food to him. He had such a little personality! All in all, it was a fun experience since Brody is little and thought they were all amazing. Maybe we'll take him to a real zoo soon.

Christmas fun with Mr. and Mrs. Claus

Mr. and Mrs. Claus made a house call on Christmas Eve and Brody was so excited! When the doorbell rang and he saw who it was he started clapping. As soon as they sat down Brody got up on Santa's lap and didn't get up until it was time for them to go. They brought a special gift for all the kids to open early. They also sang Christmas carols with us. Brody must know that it is best to warm up to Santa (just to be on the safe side and get on the nice list...good thinking) . Brody got a special Dinaco Lightning Mcqueen car and story book pillow fro Santa that night. He loved them! He had learned how Santa comes to our house through the chimney and fireplace and likes to demonstrate it with his hands. He wanted to see Santa's reindeer, but Santa said that the reindeer only work that night and were back home at the North Pole preparing for the big night. He really liked singing with Santa and cozying up in his big lap. So much fun. I love holidays with a little one. It makes the whole day so much fun. I think that most of Christmas is way over rated and should be focused more on the birth of Christ, but seeing the happiness in my son's eyes and the wonder of it all is pretty amazing too.
Christmas morning we woke up to all the gifts under the tree. Brody got a motorcycle tricycle and more cars stuff. I got a Karaoke machine. Now when we have parties at our house...be prepared to sing! Christmas is also my birthday and I was surprised with a new I-phone that I absolutely love! Now I can listen to music, get my e-mails, surf the web, take pictures, manage my calendar and use a phone wherever I go. I am an addict! What a great holiday it was with friends and family. It was a great year and I hope for another great year to follow.
